First Impressions

Walking into The Pure, Frankfurt, a Member of Design Hotels, you immediately get why it’s part of the Design Hotels collection. The lobby has this clean, minimalist aesthetic that feels refreshingly uncluttered — honestly, it’s a nice break from some of the overly ornate hotels you’ll find elsewhere in Frankfurt. The staff greets you with genuine warmth, and I noticed right away how many guests seemed to know the front desk team by name. Turns out there’s a reason for that — this place has way more repeat visitors than most hotels, which tells you something about the experience.

Location & Neighborhood

The hotel sits in Gallusviertel, which is actually one of Frankfurt’s most interesting neighborhoods right now. You’re genuinely in the heart of the city, but it doesn’t feel touristy or overwhelming. I mean, you can walk to the main train station in about ten minutes, and the financial district is just across the river. What I really appreciated was how easy it was to find authentic German restaurants and local bars within a few blocks — the kind of places where you’ll hear more German than English, you know?

The Room Experience

The room design stays true to that “pure” concept — clean lines, neutral colors, and everything you actually need without the clutter. The beds are seriously comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have this modern, spa-like feel with rainfall showers that actually have good water pressure. What struck me most was the attention to lighting — there are multiple options so you can create the right mood whether you’re working on your laptop or winding down for the evening. The soundproofing is excellent too, which matters when you’re staying in a busy city center.

Breakfast & Dining

Breakfast here is where this four-star hotel really shines. They’ve got this impressive buffet setup with continental options, but what sets it apart is how well they handle dietary restrictions — proper vegetarian selections and legitimate gluten-free choices, not just an afterthought. The coffee is actually good (not always a given in German hotels, honestly), and they source a lot of ingredients locally. I watched them make fresh juice combinations that you won’t find at chain hotels, and the staff knows their stuff when you ask about ingredients or preparation.

Why Guests Love It

There’s something about this place that keeps people coming back — and after staying here, I get it. It’s not trying to be flashy or impress you with unnecessary amenities. Instead, it focuses on doing the fundamentals really well while maintaining that design-forward aesthetic. Couples especially seem drawn to the intimate atmosphere and the neighborhood’s authentic feel. The location gives you easy access to Frankfurt’s business district and cultural sites, but you’re staying somewhere that feels more connected to the real city than the typical tourist corridor. It’s the kind of hotel where you’d actually want to hang out in the lobby with a book or meet friends for drinks.

  The room is simply gorgeous, and the Marshall speakers made me want to get my own! I loved the smell of the toiletries as well. The hotel is also a good walking distance from the train station.

  I had a room on the top floor with a balcony. The room was good size with good storage set up for clothes and other items. Unlike some hotels in U.S. the room was cleaned every day and towels were replaced with clean ones. The breakfast staff and the breakfast itself was very good, with many options. The rest of the staff was very nice and I didn’t have any complaints while there. The reception area is very modern with comfortable seating choices. Less than 5 minutes walk to train station. Nice Italian restaurant with very moderate prices about a minute away. I stayed there for six nights and was very happy.

  The room was nice , there was a marshall speaker and enjoyed the concept and the vibe of the place. The breakfast was decent , not the standard continental , as they went a bit further than that concept.
  
  What could be improved: The hotel was in a bit of shady area, did not feel that safe, along with that I was carrying some heavy luggage and the entrance was a stairway , so bit difficult but not horrible.

  This hotel is centrally located, 10 minutes walking distance to the old town. 5 minute walk from the train station, easy to find. The hotel is clean and the breakfast is excellent. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate guests. I highly recommend this hotel.
  
  What could be improved: I cannot fault the hotel for anything it is a beautiful hotel and well run. The only drawback is the city of Frankfurt itself, it does not feel safe to walk the streets alone at night as women. Although if I returned to Frankfurt I would choose this hotel again.
