Residence Inn by Marriott Frankfurt City Center Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Residence Inn by Marriott Frankfurt City Center, you immediately get that “extended stay done right” feeling. It’s not trying to be flashy or overly fancy — this four-star property knows exactly what it is and does it really well. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that feels more like a well-designed apartment building than a traditional hotel, which honestly makes perfect sense once you see the rooms.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about Stiftstrasse — you’re basically in the sweet spot of Frankfurt without the chaos of the main tourist drag. I mean, couples are rating this location 9.4 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why. You can walk to the financial district in about ten minutes, but you’re also close enough to the old town that you don’t need to plan your whole day around transportation. The area feels residential enough that you’re not constantly dodging tour groups, but urban enough that there’s always somewhere good to grab coffee or a quick bite.

The Room Experience

What really sets this place apart is the room setup — these aren’t your typical hotel boxes. Each unit comes with a proper kitchenette, and I’m talking about a real setup with a full-size fridge, dishwasher, and actual counter space where you can spread out. The living area is separate from the sleeping space, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re staying more than a couple nights. You know what I appreciated? The work desk actually has good lighting and enough surface area for a laptop plus papers — clearly designed by someone who understands business travelers.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast here is that perfect balance of continental and buffet style that doesn’t try to do too much. They’ve got the German basics covered — good bread, quality cold cuts, proper coffee — but also enough international options that you won’t get bored if you’re here for a week. What I really liked was the timing; they keep it going long enough that you don’t have to rush down at 7 AM, which is honestly a blessing when you’re dealing with jet lag or late meetings.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it solves the real problems of extended business travel or longer city stays. The parking situation is sorted (which, if you’ve tried to park in Frankfurt’s city center, you know is no small thing), the location score of 9.5 isn’t just marketing fluff — it’s genuinely that well-positioned. But more than that, there’s something refreshing about a hotel that doesn’t oversell itself. It’s comfortable, functional, and reliable in all the ways that actually matter when you’re trying to get work done or just want a proper base for exploring the city. The restaurant options in the neighborhood are solid too, so you’re not stuck eating hotel food every night if you don’t want to cook in your room.

  • Yianna from Cyprus – 24 March 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location close to public transportation and within walking distance from the old town, restaurants and the main shopping area of zeil.

The room was very clean and spacious offering many amenities. Free water, ice and coffee/tea 24hrs. Breakfast was very good and the staff very friendly and helpful.
    Highly recommened!

  • Gail from United States – 12 March 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Air conditioner was too loudly

  • Antoinette from United States – 25 February 2025 (8/10)

Well centralized to the heart of the city!

What could be improved: We asked for room to be serviced and all they did was give us clean towels and change out trash.
Our linens were Not changed! Very disappointing, as that was what we most wanted clean!

  • Lesia from Netherlands – 16 February 2025 (9/10)

Location is great, rooms are big

What could be improved: Perhaps the breakfast was not the best comparing to everything else

  • Mona from Egypt – 18 January 2025 (8/10)

    Location and staff

What could be improved: One of the two elevators was out of service during the whole stay, which made it very lengthy waiting if we need to move up or down.

  • Lovisa from Germany – 8 January 2025 (7/10)

Excellent location, kitchenette in room, sparkling water in glass carafe available throughout the day.

What could be improved: They advertise the sauna but when we arrived we had to ask on every single day whether it could please be fixed as it was on 30 degrees and clearly not hot. Once asked this issue got fixed.
Breakfast selection is not amazing but ok for the price.
When we arrived the lift was broken and we waited about 20mins before we could even get to the reception.

  • Amr from Egypt – 6 May 2024 (8/10)

Everything about the hotel was nice.. very clean and the bed and sofa bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very simple yet very tasty.

What could be improved: The location was little too far for my taste.. (the end of the zeil street).
