Star Apart Hotel Sachsenhausen Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Star Apart Hotel Sachsenhausen on Gartenstraße, you immediately get the sense that this place knows what it’s doing. It’s one of those four-star properties that doesn’t try too hard — just solid, well-thought-out hospitality in one of Frankfurt’s most authentic neighborhoods. The building itself has that understated German efficiency vibe, but there’s something welcoming about the entrance that puts you at ease right away.
The Sachsenhausen Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Sachsenhausen — you’re actually living like a local instead of being stuck in the sterile financial district. This neighborhood is where Frankfurters come to unwind, especially along the famous Apfelwein trail just a short walk away. You know what’s brilliant? Couples absolutely adore this location, and honestly, I can see why. There’s something romantic about strolling through these tree-lined streets in the evening, maybe grabbing a traditional Apfelwein at one of the cozy taverns nearby. The fact that guests rate the location 9.4 out of 10 tells you everything you need to know.
Your Space
The room setup here is what sets this place apart from typical hotels — these are proper apartment-style accommodations that give you breathing space. I mean, after a long day of meetings or sightseeing, having your own little sanctuary with actual living space makes all the difference. The design is clean and functional without being cold, and you get the sense that someone actually thought about how real people live and travel. There’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase.
Morning Fuel
The breakfast buffet here is honestly one of those pleasant surprises that makes your whole day start better. It’s not just the usual continental spread — they’ve put real thought into offering both international options and local German favorites. What I particularly appreciate is that they don’t overcomplicate things; the quality is consistently good, and there’s enough variety to keep you happy whether you’re staying three days or three weeks. Actually, speaking of longer stays, this place has an unusually high number of repeat guests, which speaks volumes about getting the fundamentals right.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something to be said for a place that just works without any drama. Star Apart Hotel Sachsenhausen delivers that rare combination of being professionally run while still feeling personal. The location gives you authentic Frankfurt experiences — you’re minutes from the river, close to excellent local dining, and you can easily hop on public transport to reach the city center or airport. But honestly, you might find yourself wanting to stay in the neighborhood more often than you expected. It’s that kind of place where you settle in and think, “Yeah, I could actually live here for a while.”

Automatica check in is very smooth and impressive. The breakfast is healthy.
Due to the house design, there’re few steps between the escalator and the room, so you need to carry your baggage if you have one. What’s more, sometimes there’s noise from the pipes (I guess), I was lucky that it didn’t go on all night.Lena from Russia – 31 March 2025 (9/10)
I was really lucky to come across this hotel when I needed to spent half day before my train connection. Proximity to the Frankfurt train station and to the city centre in general, friendly personnel, convenient self-check-in option. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean and equipped with all appliencies (incl. small kitchenette) and lovely complementary snacks. I would definitely consider staying again next time.
What could be improved: The mattress and pillows were a bit too soft, I prefer a harder ones but the bed was comfy.Hironori from United States – 28 March 2025 (9/10)
Room was clean and good facility

I like this hotel, it was my 3rd stay here. Its location is great! Right behind the corner there’s a tram station to go to the Messe Frankfurt and an access to metro station is also there. To get to the city centre you can take a nice walk across the bridge with a great view of the skyscrapers on the opposite side of the river. Rooms are decorated very nice, beds are comfy and breakfasts are enjoyable.
What could be improved: Unfortunately sauna is working only at reception’ s opening hours which are not long, so if you come to the hotel after work you can’t use it.Erkan from Turkey – 20 March 2025 (9/10)

The service was superb. I forgot some items and the hotel mailed them to my home address. Many thanks! The rooms are well-designed, each is themed after a famous athlete. Small amenities made me smile, such as the free snacks and minibar.

Very good location of the hotel in 5 minutes close to the river. Good rooms and cool interior with sport elements. Friendly and supportive personal
Erica from United States – 12 March 2024 (9/10)
Big, clean, comfortable room. Right on the metro and easily walkable neighborhood. Staff was friendly and accommodated an early check-in. No complaints at all.
What could be improved: Nothing. Though with their sports themed rooms, I would add a suggestion to have some women sports legends included, rather than only men.
