Hotel Schopenhauer Hof Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Schopenhauer Hof on Schöne Aussicht, you immediately get why this spot has such a stellar reputation. The name of the street literally means “beautiful view,” and honestly, they weren’t kidding around when they named it. This four-star property sits right in what locals consider the best part of Frankfurt — you know, that sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything but far enough from the tourist chaos. The hotel’s prime position on one of the city’s most prestigious streets ensures that guests enjoy both elegance and accessibility.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about Frankfurt — location is everything, and this place nailed it. I mean, couples are rating the location 9.5 out of 10, which tells you something. You’re walking distance from the financial district if you’re here on business, but also close to the old town charm that makes Frankfurt more than just a banking hub. The Römerberg square is totally doable on foot, and you can actually explore the city without constantly jumping on the U-Bahn. This central positioning makes it an ideal base for both leisure and corporate travelers.
The Room Experience
The rooms here feel thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter corporate. You get that classic German attention to detail — everything works properly, the beds are actually comfortable (not just hotel-comfortable), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re in the heart of the city. The windows do their job, and you’ll sleep well without needing earplugs. Each space reflects a commitment to guest comfort and quality craftsmanship.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast is where this place really shows its personality. They do both continental and buffet options, which gives you flexibility depending on whether you’re rushing to a meeting or taking your time. The buffet actually has local touches — proper German breads, regional cheeses, that sort of thing. It’s not just the standard international hotel spread, and you can tell they put thought into sourcing quality ingredients rather than just filling tables. The restaurant team takes pride in delivering an authentic culinary experience.
Why Guests Love It
Look, the 8.5 rating isn’t an accident. This hotel gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. The private parking is a genuine lifesaver if you’re driving in Frankfurt — trust me, you don’t want to deal with street parking in this city. Staff actually knows the neighborhood and can point you toward the good local spots rather than just handing you a tourist map. It’s the kind of place where business travelers feel comfortable, but couples also love it for weekend getaways. You’re paying for location and reliability here, and both deliver consistently.

Great spot, very modern
What could be improved: NothingRadu from Romania – 11 April 2025 (9/10)
Perfectly located on the riverfront, walking distance from the center. Our room was on the last floor and had a balcony which was great to enjoy the view.
Breakfast very good.Ng from United States – 7 April 2025 (9/10)
The location was very convenient and safe. There were many restaurants across from the hotel. Room decor was dated. Otherwise comfortable bed. The room felt a little stuffy and warm. There was no temperature control inside the room. Luckily our room had a balcony where we could open the door to get some cool fresh air.
What could be improved: We were given a wheelchair accessible room (we are not wheelchair bound). The room and bathroom were very spacious, which was a good compromise.Ilse from United States – 6 April 2025 (8/10)
Nice hotel on the river with great views and easy walk to old town. Breakfast was too expensive so we went out.
Ahmed from United Arab Emirates – 5 April 2025 (8/10)

Rosie from United Kingdom – 5 April 2025 (9/10)

Michael from United States – 3 April 2025 (9/10)
Did not have breakfast
Thomas from United Kingdom – 30 March 2025 (8/10)
Great location overlooking the Main, and close to the Old Town, although the rail station is realistically too far to walk with suitcases. Breakfast was great, and the staff were so friendly and helpful, especially LAURA and BILAR.
As a pianist, it was disappointing to find the beautiful grand piano in need of much TLC, and essentially unplayable.
Also be aware that the river view rooms can be quite noisy due to the traffic, especially room 412 which has 2 full sized patio doors.Robert from Slovenia – 14 February 2025 (9/10)
Excellent location with perfect view to the river and garage for the car! Friendly staff. Everything was great. I had problem with wifi, complicated to log in, could be easier. Managed to work with ipad, but not with laptop. Good italian restaurant next door.
What could be improved: Wifi, complicated and not very fast
