Lindner Hotel Frankfurt Main Plaza, part of JdV by Hyatt Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to the Lindner Hotel Frankfurt Main Plaza, part of JdV by Hyatt, you immediately notice how it sits perfectly in the Sachsenhausen district — honestly, the location feels almost too good to be true. This four-star property has that solid, reliable vibe that makes you think “okay, they know what they’re doing here.” The entrance doesn’t try to wow you with flashy design, but there’s something reassuring about the straightforward elegance that actually puts you at ease right away.
The Sachsenhausen Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in this part of Frankfurt — you’re south of the Main River, which means you get that authentic neighborhood feel without sacrificing accessibility to the city center. The famous Apfelwein taverns are literally a short walk away, and you know what? That matters when you want to experience real Frankfurt culture, not just the business district. The couples who stay here clearly get it (they rate the location 9.1), and I mean, when you can stroll along the riverbank in the evening or pop over to Museumsufer without dealing with city center chaos, you understand why people keep coming back.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was… well, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a solid four-star in Germany — clean lines, functional design, and everything actually works properly. The beds are comfortable enough that you’ll sleep well after a day of meetings or sightseeing, and the bathrooms have that efficient German engineering feel. Nothing groundbreaking, but honestly, sometimes you just want a space that does its job without any surprises, and this delivers on that front completely.
Breakfast and Practical Matters
The breakfast buffet here is actually pretty impressive — they’ve got the German standards covered (proper bread, cold cuts, cheese selection), but there’s enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying multiple nights. Parking is available on-site, which in Frankfurt is honestly a bigger deal than you might think. I’ve stayed at places where finding a spot becomes this whole ordeal, so having that sorted removes one headache entirely. The fact that there are more repeat guests here than at most other properties tells you something — people figure out this place works and they stick with it.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to be the most Instagram-worthy hotel you’ll ever stay at, but there’s real value in a place that consistently gets the basics right while sitting in such a prime spot. The Sachsenhausen location gives you authentic Frankfurt access, the restaurant scene nearby is fantastic, and you’re still close enough to everything important that you’re not spending half your day commuting. When couples rate the location this highly, it usually means they’ve found that sweet spot between convenience and character — and after staying here, I totally get why they keep returning.

Reviews of Lindner Hotel Frankfurt Main Plaza, part of JdV by Hyatt
Klaus from Denmark – 12 February 2025 (8/10)
Convenient and easy access to office and airport
What could be improved: Very old room. Needs upgradeRobert from United Kingdom – 24 December 2024 (8/10)
The rooms were good size, clean and comfortable, the staff were pleasant and the bar was great. The gym was lovely and used regularly. It was also a short 20min walk from the Christmas market and town.
What could be improved: We stayed in a room with a kitchenette, including a sink, 2 ring hob and microwave, although there were plates and crockery there was no pans, cooking utensils, chopping board or washing up liquid, sponge and tea towel that are usually provided in these types of rooms. The staff did bring a pan and big spoon. It would be great if it could have been better equipped.
We would love to stay again, but would really appreciate a better equipped kitchen
Also the carpark associated with the hotel is double the cost of one next to the Rewe supermarket about 100m away.Rebecca from United Kingdom – 16 December 2024 (8/10)
Leisure space was great but ideally opening earlier would be good as by 10 we wanted to explore
Breakfast staff were exceptional
Breakfast was brilliant accommodating for allergies too
Rooms good size

A very large room. Excellent breakfast. Adjacent underground parking. Good spa. Excellent hotel restaurant. 20 minutes walk from the tourist.
What could be improved: 20 minutes walking to center….Sean from United States – 3 November 2024 (7/10)
The Lindner is in an excellent location right along the Main River and within easy and pleasant walking distance to the old city for restaurants and museums. Front desk staff were all helpful and friendly with our questions about getting around the city. We had a spacious one bedroom which was oddly shaped, likely because the building is octagonal. For some reason the only art on the wall was hung behind the free standing TV! Frankfurt is an airport transfer hub for many but we've now stayed there twice for extended stops in between flights to and from Africa and love the manageable scale of the city's downtown. The Gay Pride (Christopher Street Day) celebration is apparently smaller than other German cities’ but still a major event that we really enjoyed and it was easy walking distance or a tram ride to/from the hotel. The pool and spa amenities were also end of day enjoyments in a sun-filled space in the late afternoon. And the breakfast was ample and delicious with all the offerings of a superior German breakfast.
What could be improved: However, the breakfast area itself was kind of cramped for the number of normal guests and absolutely crowded on Sunday during the weekend brunch making for a not so pleasant dining experience. There are only three elevators and one of them was out of service so for a multi-story building there was so much waiting! Part of the building is for long term residents so there were a lot of people wanting to use the elevators. We were on the sixth floor and started using the stairs to walk down despite inane signage that said don't use the stairs except during an emergency. While the pool and sauna were wonderful, the floor was always soaked and a slippery hazard. There's no one attending the space so sometimes there were no towels and certainly no one to mop the floor. The cleaning staff are apparently contract hires, not hotel staff so they are not at all customer service focused. We came back at 5pm one day when they were in the middle of cleaning our room (!) and they acted annoyed that we we were in their work space that was actually our room!Nadine from Lebanon – 21 October 2024 (9/10)
the room and the panoramic view
What could be improved: the breakfastIvan from Croatia – 13 September 2024 (9/10)
Excellent view from my room
Skerik from Canada – 29 August 2024 (9/10)
Quiet despite being in the doorstep of Frankfurt.
What could be improved: Pool was too small, saunas were great thoughVesko from Serbia – 31 March 2023 (9/10)
Excellent view, breakfast, comfortable beds, extremally kindly staff. the best is bar, cigar longue where you can buy cigar and smoke there, with good selection of drink, working till 03h in the morning.
What could be improved: lilt bit cold water in swimming pool. poor bathroom amenities. For this price, expected much more.
