Senator Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Senator Hotel, you immediately get that feeling of a place that knows what it’s doing. It’s not trying to be flashy or impress you with marble lobbies — instead, there’s this comfortable, well-maintained atmosphere that suggests they’ve been perfecting their approach for years. The three-star rating might sound modest, but honestly, this feels like a property that’s more focused on getting the fundamentals right than chasing stars. You can tell right away why so many guests come back here repeatedly.
Location & Neighborhood
The Sachsenhausen location is actually brilliant if you know Frankfurt at all. You’re on Oppenheimer Landstraße, which puts you in this interesting spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the financial district chaos to actually relax. Couples seem to particularly love it here — I mean, there’s something about being able to walk along the Main River or explore the traditional apple wine taverns that Sachsenhausen is famous for. The fact that recent guests rated the location 8.7 makes perfect sense when you realize you can reach the city center easily but still feel like you’re in a real neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble.
The Practical Stuff
Here’s what I really appreciate — they have private parking right at the hotel. If you’ve ever tried to find parking in Frankfurt, you know this is actually a huge deal. No circling blocks or paying ridiculous daily rates at some distant garage. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a well-run three-star place: clean, comfortable, with everything working properly. It’s not going to wow you with designer touches, but there’s something refreshing about a hotel that focuses on making sure the shower has good pressure and the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building.
What Sets It Apart
The thing that struck me most is how many repeat guests this place has — apparently way more than most other properties in the area. That tells you something important, you know? People don’t keep coming back to a place unless it’s consistently delivering on its promises. The staff seems to recognize returning guests, which creates this almost neighborhood hotel feeling even though you’re in a major city. There’s also something to be said for a place that’s earned an overall rating of 7.8 — that’s the sweet spot where expectations align with reality.
Why Guests Love It
What really works here is the combination of location, reliability, and value. You’re getting a solid base for exploring Frankfurt without paying premium prices for amenities you might not even use. The Sachsenhausen area gives you authentic local experiences — those apple wine taverns I mentioned are genuinely fun, not tourist traps — while still keeping you connected to everything else. Plus, there’s something comforting about staying somewhere that clearly has its act together, where you don’t have to worry about unpleasant surprises or service hiccups disrupting your trip.
Frankfurt’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with kitchen facilities, perfect for business travelers wanting to experience daily life in this internationally connected German city.

Reviews of Senator Hotel
Lynley from New Zealand – 25 March 2025 (9/10)
Very clean, comfortable budget hotel within easy walking distance of Frankfurt-Sud Bahnhof and 200m from the X61 bus stop to the airport. Friendly welcome by receptionist who switched to English on seeing our passports.
We had a kitchen with a sink, microwave, fridge, electric kettle and 2 hot plates. You need to ask at reception for kitchen equipment (plates, cutlery, pots etc). Mugs and glasses in room. Lidl supermarket next door.
Bed very comfortable. Could not hear trains when windows shut.
Hotel is down driveway so use street numbers to find it or look for Lidl.
Highly recommended.Andrianos from Greece – 11 February 2025 (9/10)
Hotel is in a good location, very quiet in the night. Super friendly and helpful receptionist. The room was clean and bed was comfortable in addition to being affordable
What could be improved: Everything was greatDocmaker from United Kingdom – 28 December 2024 (8/10)
Size of room, a small kitchen with cups, dishes and electric kettle in the room..There is a big Lidl store in the front of hotel and you can buy your needs.
What could be improved: No AC in the room so in the summer, it could be warm. No teabag or coffee in the room. There is just four car park slots.Alfiston from Bahrain – 27 December 2024 (9/10)
Comfortable room, superb and comfortable bed, close to the train station (10min walk),friendly staff
Victor from France – 17 December 2024 (9/10)
The staff has been really helpful by opening the breakfast room so I could finish my phone call in a quiet place, even though I had to leave my room at 11am.
Sumit from India – 4 October 2024 (9/10)
Close to station
What could be improved: It was unmanned, though the instructions were clear enough.Ludwig from Netherlands – 27 August 2024 (8/10)
room is excellent,no breakfast, went outside..plenty bakeries, location is excellent
What could be improved: just very goodKota from Japan – 14 August 2024 (8/10)
Staff were very helpful and nice. Close to the railway line, but with the windows closed it was quite. The whole building was clean.
What could be improved: That there was no air conditioning. And the room could not be completely blocked from sunlight due to its construction. So from South Korea – 12 August 2024 (8/10)
The host and staff were very friendly and helpful. I appreciated their kindness. The room was big enough for the price, and everything was clean and comfortable.
There was a small kitchen by the entrance as well. I didn’t use it, but it was very clean and spacious.
What could be improved: The hairdryer didn’t work, which was a small issue, but I still enjoyed my stay.
The hotel is close to Frankfurt South train station, which makes it easy to get to. However, you can hear the trains at night. This didn’t bother me, but it might be a problem for light sleepers.Clarke from Belgium – 31 July 2024 (8/10)
Efficient
What could be improved: Not any goodies
