Leonardo Royal Hotel Frankfurt Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Leonardo Royal Hotel Frankfurt, you immediately sense this is a place that knows what it’s doing. The lobby strikes that perfect balance between professional and welcoming — not stuffy, but definitely polished in the way you’d expect from a four-star property. What caught my attention right away was how the staff seemed genuinely pleased to see guests, which honestly isn’t always a given in Frankfurt’s business district. The whole place has this understated confidence about it, like they’ve figured out exactly what travelers need without making a big show of it.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Sachsenhausen — it’s actually one of Frankfurt’s most charming neighborhoods, and this hotel sits right in the sweet spot. You’re close enough to the financial district that business travelers can easily get where they need to go, but you’re also walking distance to the Main River and all those traditional apple wine taverns that make Frankfurt special. I mean, couples consistently rate the location 8.4 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why. The Mailänder Straße address might not sound familiar, but trust me — you’ll appreciate being slightly removed from the tourist chaos while still having everything within reach.
The Room Experience
The rooms here are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy. Everything feels purposeful — good lighting for actually getting work done, comfortable beds that don’t leave you tossing and turning, and bathrooms that are genuinely functional (you know how hotel bathrooms can be weird sometimes). What I really appreciated was the attention to details that matter when you’re traveling — plenty of outlets in the right places, decent Wi-Fi that actually works, and blackout curtains that do their job. It’s the kind of room where you can settle in for a few days without feeling cramped or constantly fighting with the setup.
Breakfast & Amenities
The breakfast buffet is honestly one of those pleasant surprises that sets the tone for your whole day. They’ve got the German classics covered — proper bread, good cold cuts, decent coffee — but there’s enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying multiple nights. Having private parking at the hotel is actually a bigger deal than it might sound, especially in Frankfurt where parking can be a real headache. It’s one of those amenities that you don’t think about until you need it, and then you’re really grateful it’s there.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
There’s something telling about the fact that this place has more repeat guests than most other properties in the area. After staying here, I think it comes down to reliability — Leonardo Royal Hotel Frankfurt delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. The staff remembers returning guests, the quality stays consistent, and you know what to expect each time. For a city like Frankfurt where you might be coming back for business or using it as a base for exploring the region, that kind of dependability is worth its weight in gold. It’s not trying to be the flashiest hotel in town, but it’s definitely one you can count on.
The concierge service in Frankfurt can arrange exclusive tours of the banking district, secure opera tickets, and organize day trips to the scenic Rhine Valley.

It was very close to the city centre, we had a room with a super view from the 15th floor. Good breakfast.
What could be improved: The towels were a bit to old. The balcony not very clean.Rik from Belgium – 22 March 2025 (9/10)
What could be improved: Parking for free or/and included in nightprice. An extra of 24€/d is to much for your guests.

Beautiful stylish decoration, very clean; there’s a bus station right outside, so we were able to go to the city easily.
