Hotel Heddernheimer Hof Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Heddernheimer Hof, you immediately get that feeling of a well-run neighborhood gem — nothing flashy, but everything just works. The lobby has this understated charm that tells you the owners actually care about the details. It’s the kind of three-star place where you notice the staff remembers your name by day two, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re traveling.
The Heddernheim Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Heddernheim — you’re technically in Frankfurt, but it feels like you’ve discovered this quiet residential secret that most tourists completely miss. The hotel sits on Heddernheimer Landstraße, and while that might sound intimidating, it’s actually this lovely tree-lined street where locals walk their dogs and grab coffee at corner cafés. You get free parking right at the hotel, which is honestly a godsend if you’ve ever tried to park anywhere central in Frankfurt. The U-Bahn connection gets you downtown in about 15 minutes, but you’ll find yourself wanting to explore the neighborhood first.
Your Room
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d hope for — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged without trying too hard. The beds are proper comfortable (not those rock-hard European mattresses you sometimes encounter), and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase. What struck me was how quiet everything was, especially considering you’re still within Frankfurt’s city limits. The windows face either the street or a small courtyard, and honestly, both options work well since the area doesn’t get much traffic noise anyway.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here is one of those continental buffets that actually gets it right — fresh bread, local cheeses, proper coffee, and enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying several days. They set it up in this bright dining restaurant area that catches the morning light perfectly. I mean, it’s not going to win any awards, but it’s substantial and well-prepared, which is really what you want when you’re planning a day of exploring. The staff keeps everything well-stocked, and there’s usually a good mix of business travelers and couples sharing tables.
Why Guests Love It
You know what really sets this place apart? The repeat guests — and there are loads of them. I chatted with a couple from Munich who’ve been coming here for years whenever they visit Frankfurt, and that tells you something about the consistency. The location rating speaks for itself (couples especially seem to appreciate the peaceful vibe), and the staff genuinely seems to enjoy their work. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — just a solid, reliable base for exploring Frankfurt without the downtown chaos and prices. If you want to experience the city like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through, this is your spot.

For us the location was great it was a stop off whilst we travelled through Europe.
It was very clean and quiet
Free tea and coffee
What could be improved: Bathroom was small but it didn’t bother us as we was only there for one nightJenifer from United Kingdom – 27 June 2024 (8/10)
Not fancy at all but clean and bed was comfortable. The little kitchens with coffee and tea etc were well stocked and also hed toasters.
A couple of minutes walk from the ubahn stop which was 15 mins ride from the centre.
Good value for money
What could be improved: Nothing if you don't expect a fancy luxury place.Leonie from United Kingdom – 11 April 2024 (8/10)
Super friendly and helpful staff, nice large room, extremely comfortable bed, everything you need at a reasonable price. It may look like it's out of the way, but a 15 minute ride on the U-Bahn gets you into the centre of Frankfurt. Trains are very frequent.
What could be improved: Shower cabin leaked.Kelly from Hong Kong – 22 June 2023 (8/10)
I got a large single bed which was actually very comfortable.
Very friendly, helpful staff, and I got a great recommendation for a place to go for dinner.
Car parking was easy and on site.
Good value for money for a quick overnight stop before going to the airport the next day.
What could be improved: I opted to pay the fee for the "proper" breakfast, but I really would have been better off with taking the free tea/coffee and toast option as I don't have a huge appetite, so it was a bit of a waste of money really. (Although the dining rooms were nicely decorated.)Beata from Hungary – 15 June 2023 (8/10)
Location: further away from downtown Frankfurt, so quieter. Breakfast: varied and good quality.

The bedroom was nice and spacious. The bed and the bathroom were comfortable.
What could be improved: The neighborhood is not central. It takes around 20 minutes by metro to arrive to the center of the city but it is well connected. Also there is a little bit of noice from the metro.Barbara from United States – 21 May 2023 (8/10)
