Hotel Franken an der Messe Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Franken an der Messe, you immediately get that feeling of stumbling onto something locals have been keeping to themselves. This three-star property sits quietly on Frankenallee, and honestly, the unassuming exterior doesn’t prepare you for how well everything works once you’re inside. The lobby has this comfortable, lived-in quality — not flashy, but you can tell they’ve put thought into making guests feel at home rather than just impressed.
Location & Neighborhood
The Gallusviertel location is actually brilliant if you know Frankfurt at all. You’re close enough to the Messe (trade fair grounds) that business travelers don’t need to stress about morning commutes, but far enough from the tourist chaos around the Hauptbahnhof to get some peace. I mean, couples are rating this spot 9.1 out of 10, and that tells you something — this isn’t just about convenience for work trips. The neighborhood has that authentic Frankfurt vibe, with local cafes and proper German bakeries within walking distance.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d want from a solid three-star — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged without any unnecessary frills. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the windows actually open, which you don’t always get in newer properties. What struck me was how quiet everything was, considering you’re in a major city. The housekeeping is clearly on point, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.
What Sets It Apart
Here’s the thing that really impressed me — the repeat guest situation is off the charts compared to other hotels in this category. You know what that means? People aren’t just staying here once because it’s cheap or available, they’re coming back because it works. The staff recognizes returning guests, which creates this almost family-run atmosphere even though it’s a proper hotel. The parking situation is also sorted, which anyone who’s driven in Frankfurt will appreciate — no circling blocks looking for a spot.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the kind of place that’s going to wow you with a fancy spa or Michelin-starred restaurant, but that’s sort of the point. It’s the hotel equivalent of that reliable friend who always shows up when they say they will. Recent guests are rating the location at 8.9, and when you factor in the value for money, it makes perfect sense why people keep coming back. If you want to experience Frankfurt like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through, this is your spot.

Arjun from India – 22 March 2025 (9/10)
Loved the staff. The older man that checked me in was superb!
Young from Hungary – 17 May 2024 (9/10)
Very friendly, helpful and quickly responding staff. The room was spotless clean, very well organised, well-designed, beautiful.
We could make a very early check-in (at no extra cost) as the room was already ready.
The check-out was simple and very quick.
The beds are very comfortable as well as the pillows. (you get 3 different types of pillows, so you will definitely find one that you like.)
In the twin room there is a wide single bed and a queen bed. You will also find an iron desk, a sink, tea kettle and couple of tea filters in the room.
The mugs can be found in the kitchen right next to the reception.
The room is equipped with air-conditioner, TV and a small fridge as well.
It was very easy to get to the hotel and the area is full of restaurants. Public transportation (tram 11,21) was 3-4min away on foot.
Highly recommended, great value for the price.
What could be improved: – The safe in the room didn't work
– The Air conditioning was either not working efficiently or it was set to a minimum temperature. We gave up and slept with open window.Pavlo from Poland – 18 March 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: THERE IS NO ELEVATOR
Merey from Germany – 11 July 2023 (9/10)
Everything was fine. The room is very cozy and clean. The location is also super. There are many cafes, a square and 3 minutes from a public transport stop nearby.

Excellent spacious room with comfortable bed. Reasonable location, walking to Messe and some interesting restaurants nearby.
What could be improved: No real facilities (e.g. lounge area), but very good for what it did provide.Yihan from Germany – 29 October 2022 (8/10)
near tram station, fully equipped, bathroom is great
What could be improved: no elevator, but in total four floors, so it’s fine; can hear the sound of fridge operating at night, but doesn’t really bother meVenessa from South Africa – 14 October 2022 (9/10)
