First Impressions

Walking up to the Ramada by Wyndham Frankfurt Central Station, you’ll notice it sits right in the thick of things — and I mean that in the best way possible. This three-star hotel doesn’t try to be something it’s not, which honestly makes it more appealing. The Bahnhofsviertel neighborhood has this gritty urban energy that some travelers love, though it’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea. You’re literally steps from Frankfurt’s main train station, so there’s always movement and life around you.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I really appreciate about staying here — you can walk to the train station in about two minutes, maybe three if you’re dragging heavy luggage. The neighborhood gets a bad rap sometimes, but during the day it’s perfectly fine and incredibly practical. You’ve got the financial district within walking distance, plus tons of restaurants and shops that locals actually use. I mean, you’re not in some sterile hotel district where everything closes at 9 PM. The area comes alive at night too, though it can get a bit rowdy — just something to keep in mind if you’re looking for complete quiet.

The Rooms

The rooms at Ramada by Wyndham Frankfurt Central Station are what you’d expect from a solid three-star property — clean, functional, and surprisingly comfortable for the price point. Nothing fancy, but the beds are actually quite good and the bathrooms are modern enough. What struck me most was how well soundproofed the rooms are, considering you’re so close to all the action outside. You’ll get decent WiFi, air conditioning that works, and enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The decor is pretty standard hotel fare, but honestly, when you’re exploring Frankfurt all day, you just need a comfortable base.

Breakfast & Dining

The continental buffet breakfast here is better than I expected — and I’ve had my share of disappointing hotel breakfasts. They’ve got the usual suspects like fresh bread, cold cuts, and cheese, but the quality is actually quite good. The coffee is decent too, which matters more than people realize when you’re starting your day. You won’t find anything revolutionary, but it’ll definitely fuel you up for a day of sightseeing. The breakfast room gets busy around 8 AM, so if you want a quieter experience, aim for earlier or later.

Why Guests Love It

What really makes this place work is the combination of location and value — couples especially seem to get this, which makes sense given how easy it is to explore Frankfurt from here. You’re paying three-star prices but getting four-star convenience in terms of transportation links. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping guests navigate the city, and they’re pretty good with English if your German is rusty. It’s not the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but when you can walk to the financial district, hop on trains to anywhere in Germany, and still have money left over for actual experiences, that’s a pretty good trade-off.

  Room was clean. Quite spacious. Close to the train/bus station. Shower was good too. Staff friendly at both hotels.
  
  What could be improved: Sadly, we didn't actually stay here. They'd double booked out room so we stayed at the sister hotel (Comfort Hotel), so have rated that one instead. If we had booked that one, we'd have been happy with our booking. Did feel a bit aggrieved that we paid for a higher rated hotel but ended up in a lower rated one. No discount was offered despite price being lower at Comfort Hotel and it was booking/hotel fault, not ours. Didn't query this at the time as we'd spent 11 hours travelling and just wanted to get out to the markets.

  The hotel is close to the main train station as well to the centre. The breakfast was small but sufficient.
  
  What could be improved: We had a total of three rooms; two had a very old carpet and one new laminat flooring. The bathroom was already a bit worn out but overall ok.

  The location was very convenient for us, with the train station just a block away. Clean sheets and towels.

  5th stay here. Rooms are always better when you are given a double room than a single room. Nice spacious room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom 5/10 mins walk from HBF lots of restaurants nearby

  Spacious room, beautiful bathroom with single bed, coffee and tea making facilities in the room and lovely breakfast area which was a restaurant at night. Helpful and engaging staff opened door if like me you use a walker for mobility. Only two blocks back from Frankfurt Railway station and easy to get too along Kaiserstrasse where the good eateries were and where including but not limited to the Kakadu Sports Bar and Cafe and Saigon Restaurant.
