mainhaus Stadthotel Frankfurt Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to mainhaus Stadthotel Frankfurt on Lange Straße, you immediately get that “this is exactly where I want to be” feeling. It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t try too hard — the design is clean and modern without being cold, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better. You’re right in the heart of Frankfurt, but somehow it doesn’t feel chaotic or overwhelming like some city center hotels can.
Perfect Positioning
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally in Frankfurt’s best-rated area, which means everything you actually want to see is walkable. The Römerberg with its fairy-tale buildings? Five minutes. The Main River for those evening strolls? Even closer. I mean, couples consistently rate this location 8.6 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why.
You can duck out for dinner, explore the old town, or grab coffee without ever needing to figure out public transport or worry about parking (though they do have private parking if you’re driving). The neighborhood truly captures the essence of what makes this city special.
The Room Experience
The room itself strikes that perfect balance between functional and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but everything works exactly as it should — which, let’s be honest, is what you really want after a day of meetings or sightseeing. The beds are properly comfortable, not those rock-hard European mattresses that leave you wondering if you’ve offended someone. The bathrooms are spacious enough that you’re not doing some weird dance around your luggage, and the whole space feels thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together. Each detail reflects careful consideration for guest comfort.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here actually impressed me — they’ve got this whole buffet setup that covers pretty much every dietary need you can think of. Continental classics, American options, plus solid vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices that don’t feel like afterthoughts. You know what I appreciate? They seem to understand that travelers have different rhythms and preferences, so whether you’re the “just coffee and pastry” type or need a proper sit-down meal before tackling the city, you’re covered. The quality and variety set a welcoming tone for each day.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it gets the fundamentals right without any unnecessary fuss. You’re staying somewhere that feels connected to Frankfurt’s energy — you can walk to the financial district for business, wander through Sachsenhausen for traditional apple wine, or catch a train to anywhere in Germany from the nearby Hauptbahnhof. The staff seems genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, and the whole experience feels authentic to the city rather than like some generic hotel that could be anywhere. It’s the kind of place where you settle in quickly and spend your time exploring Frankfurt instead of figuring out your accommodation. Guests consistently praise the balance of comfort and authenticity.

Very clean, nice and central hotel.
Very easy to find parking around the area, walkable distance to the main attractions and the trains/bus.
Very lovely and helpful hotel employers, breakfast buffet was super good and with various options, will totally come back in my next Frankfurt trip.Pelin from Turkey – 3 April 2025 (8/10)

The hotel's location is close to the train station, making it really easy to get to from the airport. It is also within walking distance to the city area. The staff were friendly and helpful, the check in and check out was really smooth. The room was clean, the water pressure was good. My room was facing the road so you could hear the noise from outside. The room was not big, but provided all the basic things you would need for sleeping (you should be out exploring the city!). The breakfast was good – with a spread of cheeses and dairies, coffee machine, and you can even make a fresh juice. Overall, I enjoyed the stay at the hotel and would recommend to friends (if they are not looking for a staycation). Definitely good value for money.
What could be improved: could hear noise from outside road.Noel from Ireland – 19 December 2024 (9/10)
It was very close to the Christmas markets and to Hyrox venue! Rooms were neat, tidy and well presented. Breakfast was fantastic, as was the food in the restaurant for dinner!
What could be improved: My only complaint was not having tea/coffee facilities in the room, if they had that they’d be perfect!Scarlett from Canada – 30 November 2024 (8/10)
Great location.
What could be improved: The bed was a little hard for my liking but otherwise a great room and hotel.Abdus from Australia – 22 November 2024 (8/10)
The size of the room. The location – easy access to Roemer and Hauptwache. The nearness to a couple of S-ban stations with easy connection to the Frankfurt airport. Friendly staff.
What could be improved: There's not much that we didn't like.Sohaib from Germany – 19 November 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: SOME ROOM THE WC NOT SEPRATED FROM THE ROOM JUST SIMPLE BARRIER BUT THAT IS NOT BAD THAT IS DEPEND ON THE PEOPLE HOW THEY LIKE THE ROOMMichael from United States – 7 October 2024 (8/10)
Great location, easy accessible, downtown in walking distance. Great staff. Loved the balcony.
What could be improved: The room has no coffee maker, no kettle, no mini fridge, no iron. Too plain, if you like a cup of coffee when you get out of bed.Eddie from Ireland – 12 September 2024 (9/10)
The checking in was seemless, the hotel is right beside the tram and down the road from the S-Bhan. The room was very clean. The breakfast selection was reall good, lots of different items.
What could be improved: All was goodEminekuntur from Ireland – 30 August 2022 (8/10)
3* hotel but the service, hospitality, staff, location is +5 stars . I cannot find anything to fault. If you want to go anywhere and everywhere within Frankfurt city, this is the ideal hotel. Everything we wanted do / see was max. 10 mins away (walking). Breakfast selection was great. Room was tidied and fully stocked everyday. Staff were very professional. This hotel is definitely on top of my recommendations list. Thank you.
What could be improved: The hotel is close to a hospital so you can hear ambulances passing by regularly but it didn’t effect us whatsoever.
